US Trade Deficit Hits All Time High

Americans desire for foreign made goods has reached an all time high. The reason this is hasoccurred, is because American productivity has become increasingly low. The productivity of American workers has become a disaster. Even with the advent high-technology and flexible work schedules, American workers have increasingly depended on foreign made goods. With the value of the dollar becoming lower overseas, there seems to be no end in sight forthis trillon dollar deficit. The government feels that by lowering the value of the dollar overseas, it would create an economic surplus for the United States by making goods cheaper overseas. This has only added to the economic chaos in the United States. With the value of Chinese yen and the European Euro, America cannot compete with the rising competition from Europe and the Far East. Many economic experts and political expertsin Washington feel tariffs are a better remedy for this calamity. This would only serve to make foreign good even more expensive and reduce competition for domestic producers. This would only create more unemployment and create an even larger deficit. The solution only lies in increased competition among domestic producers and better utilization of high technology and better management of domestic manufactured goods. Moreover, a reasonable trade policy with our allies would allow for better job growth and it would allow for fair competition and economic prosperity around the world. Our biggest trade deficit now is with China. Sixty-six percent of American import come from this country. Many political experts in Washington feel that China is deliberately lowering it's yen to make it's products increasingly low for worldwide comsumption. They call for an increased tariff on goods imported from this country. The irony of this becomes evident in thatthe U.S. government allows fortune 500 companies to send jobs and their companies to China and other foreign countries. This new wave of outsourcing high-tech and manufacturing jobs has lowered worker morale and wages. It has become apparent thatthe U. S. government has focused on the almighty dollar and not the American worker.
