Russia becoming a member of the WTO.

Since June of 1993 Russia has been working towards becoming a member of the World Trade Organization. Russia also established a Working Party in June 1993 to represent themselves in the meetings. Memorandums were started in March 1994 and questions and replies started in June 1995. Meetings started in July 1995 and have been ever since on going. All aspects of Russian economics, agriculture, and technology are being examined for import and export use. If everything comes together like it's supposed to, we might be seeing Russian made technology of some sort in America. Russias technology has caught up with alot of the western technology and can very well excel the new technology in the west. New meetings started in January or February of 2004 and hopefully something good will come out of these meetings. I think if Russia becomes a member of the WTO the technology in America can benefit. To look at the Accession status of the meeting and so forth go to http://www.wto.org/english/thewto_e/acc_e/a1_russie_e.htm

This is an intresting article but what type of Russian products would we see here in the U.S? I think it might be cool to have that exchange between our countries but I don't know that there is a market for Russian products in the United States.
